Sarah Edwards and I will be walking/running the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2km) within 24 hours on Christmas Eve 2020, despite neither of us having done that kind of distance before, to try and raise money to keep Bletchley Park open. All of the money raised will be used to purchase bricks on their Codebreaker's Wall, for the veteran codebreakers who saved lives by breaking Enigma codes and as a consequence helped to shorten World War II. If you'd like to support us, we have a GoFundMe page set up: https://www.gofundme.com/f/marathon4codebreakers For everyone who donates at least £15, you can choose a song to go on the playlist that we will listen to during our efforts. For everyone who donates at least £50, we will take a selfie at a London zone 1 (Kat) or Washington DC or Arlington (Sarah) landmark of your choice and post it to Twitter as we provide updates throughout the day. Add your selections to the comments when you donate or DM one of us on Twitter to add your nomination for a song or landmark to our lists. If anyone else would like to join us in completing the distance, drop me DM and I can add you to our team on the GoFundMe page!
